Hours of Operation:

Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Supervisor: Kate Samy, Events Coordinator

Responsibilities: 

Budgetary control – will keep track of the entire signage budget for the events department, including all signage for the Allstate Sugar Bowl Classic as well as our 50 plus satellite events throughout the year.

Correspondence – directly involved with all correspondence that is issued from this department by producing multiple letters, mailings, request for proposals and reviewing contracts.

Vendor Relations – serves as a primary contact for our vendors who design and produce signage for all our events. Also handles initial meetings as well as any additional communication that needs to be handled throughout the process, start to finish.

Database Entry –  actively update our list of attendees, Sugar Bowl volunteer members, VIP guests and team officials throughout the year for all of our Sugar Bowl events.

Compensation: $1500/mo

Goals: Through this internship, I plan to strengthen my network and build my transferable skills. It is important for me to continue to expand my knowledge of the sport industry in every capacity. By adding event planning on a large scale I have increased my reach. Ultimately, I would like to use the skills developed at the Sugar Bowl to work at the collegiate or professional level of either football or basketball in Team Operations or Player Development.

Learning Outcomes: Effectively utilize Adobe software to create projects used to produce signage for the Sugar Bowl. Grow as an effective member and leader of the Sugar Bowl staff. Efficiently complete tasks. Sufficiently maintain the signage budget. Understand the logistics of operating a major bowl game. Strengthen interpersonal communication with vendors and Sugar Bowl members.
